Cayman Islands - January 11, 2024 (USANews.com) - Celebrating a remarkable achievement, the documentary "Beacon Farms, The Movie" conceived, produced and directed by Caymanian Candy Whicker, secured three awards including the Silver Award for feature documentary at the esteemed 2023 Hollywood Independent Filmmaker Awards. In addition, the film also was designated an “Official Selection” of both the London International Film Festival and Documentaries Without Borders for 2024. The film, showcasing the transformative journey of Cayman's only non-profit farm supporting addiction recovery, premiered in February 2023 at Camana Bay Cinema.

Beacon Farms, established in 2016, employs 13 Caymanians, offering them the opportunity to learn new skills in a safe and sober environment. “Beacon Farms, The Movie” will return to Cayman screens in the new year, supported by Camana Bay Cinema and Dart, providing a continued platform for sharing Beacon Farms' impactful story with island residents and visitors.

In a groundbreaking collaboration this year, Beacon Farms joined forces with Cayman Cigar Company to introduce "The Beacon," the first premium cigar featuring whole-leaf tobacco grown exclusively in the Cayman Islands.
